Definitely a highlight of the trip so far! A few of us went out to visit one of the farmers who is involved in the beekeeping initiative of the organisation.

The organisation promotes beekeeping in the rural community as a way to provide farmers with an income even if the crop season is poor. They help install the beehives and provide the training and tools to the farmers in order to care for the bees and hives, and how to collect the honey. The organisation then buys the honey off the farmers and processes it into jars for sale in the local supermarkets.
